Maths and Brain

I always say that that the human brain is a computer. This is why I named one of my books as “A Human Computer”, as most of the students called me. Unfortunately, technological developments have led to humans using their brains less often for calculations, to our own detriment. My algorithm has helped me to enhance my personal mental abilities, and I was determined to share it with as many people as possible. Later I was additionally motivated as I found some researchers to conclude that mental exercises help in preventing or slowing down brain ageing and dementia. Their research found that solving elementary maths problems significantly boosted cognitive abilities of adults. They went further to find that such exercises can improve even the mental abilities of people with Alzheimer’s disease.

Scientists have also observed significant improvement of children’s mental and cognitive functions by practising mental maths. The researchers claim improvement to subjects’ concentration, problem solving, associative memory, creativity and concept formation.
